Almost everyone loves the summertime. During these few months, we go to the beach and on tropical getaways, we stroll around in the park, we dive into the pool, we visit baseball stadiums and have a great time under the sun. However, these months pose the largest risk for our skin. The sun’s affects on our skin can cause everything from burns to eventual cancer. You should never go without protection.
Of course, sunburn is the biggest concern when speaking about being outside in the summer months, but this time of year also wreaks havoc on our skin for other reasons.
With the hot, dry climate at the peak of summer, skin can dry out like at no other time in the year. And with the heat causing your pores to open, oil pours out of your skin at an increased rate when compared with other seasons of the year.
In order to look and feel your best, it is important that you take some extra time to properly care for your skin during these months. Luckily, you can find a ton of affordable products on the market that will assist you in keeping up with your skincare.
Skincare Products for summer
Sun Lotion
Whether it’s tanning lotion or burn protection, it is vital that you wear some sort of sun-block cream while out in the sun. Even if you’re the type of individual that bronzes instead of burns, that doesn’t mean the sun isn’t negatively affecting your skin. Sure, you might not have to contend with the redness and burning, but you are still absorbing the harmful radiation. This is not good for anyone. Protect yourself with ample sun-block when you plan on spending the day outside.
Moisturize
Any old moisturizer will probably do here, so you definitely do not have to drop the big bucks for a name brand bottle. Just be sure that you’re moisturizing your skin at night, especially if you were out during the day. When your skin becomes dry and cracked, it is not only painful and unappealing but it also causes the skin to lose its elasticity and will speed up the aging process.
Blotting
Removing the excess oil from your skin often will help you to keep your pores from becoming clogged and/or blackheads and pimples from forming. Again, it doesn’t need to be an expensive product. Carrying around some extra tissue paper or a simple handkerchief will help to remove the oil.
It isn’t a hard thing to do to keep up with your skincare during the summer months, but it is important that you do so.
